Problems booting from an EFI/GPT install on 14.2
by Gandomyr from LinuxQuestions.org on (#57MXF)
Slackware 14.2 is installed on a NVMe SSD disk (Samsung 960 Series), BIOS is in UEFI mode, disk is partitioned as GPT.
Steps taken:
- used gdisk to create an EFI (type ef00) partition (100M) at the start of the disk;
- proceeded and created 2 more partitions (1 for swap, 1 for /);
- full installation, went everythin smooth
Problem:
- system doesn't boot Slackware
Temporary solution:
- I use the boot usb drive created during setup to start the system, and it works just fine.
My guess is there is a problem with the ELILO boot manager, somehow I think it was not configured properly during setup. I am new to Linux/Slackware, and I do not know how to do this. Any help is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Gandomyr
