Broncos release Todd Davis after 6 seasons
The Denver Broncos released veteran linebacker Todd Davis on Thursday.
Davis, who's been with the Broncos for the last six seasons, battled a calf injury during training camp, but he's fully recovered from the issue, according to Pelissero.
The 28-year-old is coming off back-to-back 100-plus-tackle campaigns and led Denver in tackles in each of the last two seasons.
The Broncos claimed Davis off waivers in 2014 after he was released by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie.
Denver lost fifth-round rookie Justin Strnad to a season-ending injury this offseason. The team recently added to its linebacker corps by signing Mark Barron and trading for Austin Calitro.
