Slackware install without ethernet connection?

I installed Slackware on my laptop, but during the process I had to take it to the modem and plug in the ethernet. To connect to a mirror and update... I cannot do this with my desktop. Will a Slackware still work without the ethernet connection? My desktop connects via wifi.
Perhaps the updates can be done after install?
