systat is sysstat?

Hi all
I recently run few searches on google about the systat (BSD) service. It seems to me that many posters are confusing systat (BSD) and sysstat (SAR).
According what I've found systat is a BSD console application for displaying system statistics in fullscreen mode using ncurses/curses.
However sysstat / system statistics - is a collection of performance monitoring tools for Linux.
Is this just a misunderstanding of many Linux users when they are referring many times to sysstat as systat. It seems to me those are 2 completely different tools.
