Book that is a concise beginners introduction to C++ using small example programs?
by grumpyskeptic from LinuxQuestions.org on (#57Y2Y)
I have read the C/C++ tutorials post and followed a lot of the links. I have already searched Amazon and Google.
Is there a concise (less than 200 pages) beginners introduction to C++ book that teaches by using small example programs that are described and discussed?
The sort of approach I am after is shown here: https://www.programiz.com/cpp-programming/examples
However I prefer lolling on my couch/settee reading a paper book rather than sitting uncomfortably to attention at a desk while using a computer.
All the books I have found so far take the approach of describing the syntax, and you are apparently expected to remember all this and synthesize programs from it.
I will be using C++ with the latest version of Linux Mint.
Thanks.
Note to environmentalists: I am sorry if you do not like me reading paper books, but I have planted a tree recently and probably will plant more in the future.
