I am fond of my Butter Bell
by Jason Weisberger from on (#5815H)
It is wonderful to have room temperature butter around to put on the baked goods. This butter bell is the crock that makes it happen safely.
Simply fill the bell with warm butter and put about 1 1/4 cm of water into the crock. Place the bell in the crock when you are not using it. The water creates a seal to keep bad things out, and butter is mostly just fat so it is fine at room temps for up to 30 days.
Warm butter spreads easy and can help make a loaf of fresh bread disappear.
