Xubuntu 18.04.4 - 64-bit - Latest my-weather-indicator seems 2b buggy
by Snugbug from LinuxQuestions.org on (#58189)
On Xubuntu, I used to have xfce-weather-plugin, which doesn't work anymore, because its support for that system has stopped.
That's why I tried to switch to my-weather-indicator 0.9.5-0extras20.04.09 by means of this PPA:
Code:ppa:atareao/atareaoBut the widget of that tool cannot be dragged anywhere. To move the widget onto another position, I have to edit the my-weather-indicator.conf, which is a very uncomfortable way of doing this.
Unfortunately, there's no option in Synaptic to install the previous version 0.9.5-0extras20.04.05, because the previous version was never installed on that Xubuntu before and the previous version is not available in the PPA either.
As a workaround, until I find a real solution, I copied the following folder of Xubuntu from an existing 0.9.5-0extras20.04.05 of a Mint 19.3 MATE 64-bit:
Code:/opt/extras.ubuntu.com/my-weather-indicatorNow, everything is working, except for the fact that it's the previous version, but the system is thinking, it's 0.9.5-0extras20.04.09.
Is there any way to install version 0.9.5-0extras20.04.09 instead of ...05 and to get it working properly, please?
