Mouse clicks stop working

Movement is fine but unable to click and select anything. A reboot fixed it until the next time.
Tried various mice to no avail. I also have CentOS and Fedora installed and they don't have these issues.
I did the following to no avail:
apt-get install --reinstall inputattach
The built-in mouse next to the touchpad keys do not work either. The machine is MSI GT80 Titan that also runs CentOS and Fedora with no issues.
