kernel lads the shuts down keyboard and

loading puppy linux 7.5 when kernel is almost loaded the keyboard shuts down and the mouse also.
running of disk. I thought i had installed it on the laptop hard drive, but when I tried to load it OS couldn't find it
it was working perfect before I shut it down and then reboot it.
I'm a newbie, so please show how to fix this problem.
