help with VST for carla w/ wine64 (no multi-lib) on -current
by downhomechunk from LinuxQuestions.org on (#58BGV)
yes, i know, i should find a FOSS alternative to a plugin which uses a proprietary and incompatible format. if one exists then i haven't found it. AVL drumkits is close, but doesn't have the built in beat library and drag & drop composer.
this plugin does but even the linux version is VST based-
https://www.powerdrumkit.com/download76187.php
i run -current. i have not enabled multilib. my rationale is that the plugin i want to use is 64 bit so i shouldn't need 32 bit libraries.
what i've done-
installed wine with WIN64=yes WIN32=no
installed carla to use as a plugin wrapper
copied the plugin dll and pdf file to /home/(user)/.vst (this is listed as a valid plugin path for either VST2 or VST3 plugins in carla setup)
carla detects all of the LADSPA & LV2 plugins with no issues, but not the VST.
does anyone know what i'm doing wrong or what i'm missing?
