Linux Mint XFCE OEM Noob!

Well, I installed the OEM version of Mint XFCE. Everything was awesome until I decided to click that weird Icon on my desktop that evidently deleted everything I did in OEM for a week and half.
Then I lost a weeks work of writing in my Documents folder.
I'm hoping that it still exists somewhere, and some one can help me recover a single file in there.
