Kamara expects Saints to get back on track: 'Everybody will shut up'

The New Orleans Saints are facing criticism following their 1-2 start, but running back Alvin Kamara is confident that his team will rebound and quiet any negativity in the process.

"When you're losing it's easy to point fingers, say this and say that. But we'll get back on track and everybody will shut up," Kamara said, according to the New Orleans Advocate's Luke Johnson.

Kamara also came to the defense of quarterback Drew Brees, who has completed 70.2% of his passes this season but has been scrutinized for his lack of arm strength over the Saints' three games. The 41-year-old is averaging just 7.3 yards per pass attempt, his lowest since 2010.

"I'm fine with Drew. It's early in the season. Everybody outside of this building has something to say, and quite honestly, I don't really give a damn," Kamara said.

The Saints have leaned heavily on Kamara this season, as the running back leads the team in both rushing (153 yards) and receiving (285). He's scored six touchdowns while his 438 yards from scrimmage currently lead the NFL.

New Orleans' offense has suffered in the absence of receiver Michael Thomas, who's missed the last two games with an ankle injury. Thomas was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
