The Seattle Seahawks have ruled out star safety Jamal Adams for Sunday's prime-time game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a groin injury, head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday, according to Maria Santora of KVAL News.

Adams was also sidelined during the Seahawks' victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 4. The All-Pro defender injured his groin during Seattle's Week 3 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

Acquired by the Seahawks in a trade from the New York Jets this offseason, the 24-year-old missed just two games due to injury over his three-season stint with the Jets, both last year.

The two-time Pro Bowler amassed 23 tackles, two sacks, and one pass breakup in his first three appearances with Seattle.

Carroll said he doesn't expect first-round rookie linebacker Jordyn Brooks to play Sunday but added that cornerback Quinton Dunbar is determined to suit up, according to Aaron Levine of Q13 Fox.

The Seahawks have a bye in Week 6.
