How do I choose where Linux 20 Mint Cinnamon installe software?

Obviously I'm new to this so here it comes:
I have installed Linux 20 mint cinnamon as my only operating system. While installing I made the following patitions; /boot (primary), /root (primary), /software (primary), /home (logical), /swap (logical).
I made a /software partition so I would be able to separate my linux from other software. But when I install software through Software Manager, it does not ask me where I want it to be installed. I'm used to this from Windows...

So my questions are:
1. Why does the Software Manager not ask me this?
2. Is it possible to decide where to install it?
3. If not possible should I do the installation again without the /software partition?
4. How am I supposed to know where it has been installed when not asked?

Sorry for the newbie questions, but the partition part of the installation and the folder system of linux is still a bit confusing for me...

Thank you in advance. Kind regards,
