Vikings' Cook to have MRI after injuring groin vs. Seahawks
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will undergo an MRI after suffering a groin injury in his team's 27-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, head coach Mike Zimmer said postgame.
After going to the locker room and being listed as questionable, Cook returned to the field for one drive before being sidelined for the remainder of the contest.
The 2019 Pro Bowler racked up 65 yards and one score on 17 carries prior to suffering the injury. He also caught five passes for 24 yards.
Cook, who's scored at least one touchdown in every game this season, was leading the NFL in rushing yards through the first four weeks.
Alexander Mattison carried the load at running back for the Vikings with Cook unable to play. The second-year back recorded 20 rushing attempts for a career-high 112 yards.
Since entering the league as a second-round pick in 2017, Cook has yet to play a full season. After missing 17 games through his first two NFL campaigns, he appeared in 14 contests last year.
The 25-year-old inked a five-year, $63-million contract extension last month.
