The Tennessee Titans have traded disgruntled linebacker Kamalei Correa to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.

Jacksonville traded a sixth-round selection to Tennessee in exchange for Correa and a seventh-round pick.

Correa requested a trade early Wednesday after he was a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Buffalo Bills. His request was granted later in the day when he was dealt to the AFC South rival. He played only 39 snaps this season prior to the trade.

The 26-year-old finished last season with 37 tackles and five sacks across 16 appearances, including five starts. He's yet to start a game in 2020 and has notched just two tackles over three outings.

The Boise State product signed a one-year, $2.25-million deal with Tennessee in the offseason. His role was reduced when the Titans added Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley to their stable of pass-rushers.

Correa tallied 77 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and 8.5 sacks during his Titans tenure. He started nine of a possible 32 games over three years in Tennessee.

Adding him provides the Jaguars with a healthy option at linebacker. The team lost former starting linebacker Leon Jacobs for the year due to a torn ACL. Correa joins a position group led by Myles Jack, Joe Schobert, and Cassius Marsh.

The Jags' newest addition could make his team debut Sunday when Jacksonville hosts the Detroit Lions.
