XEDIT cuts off line number

I know for a fact this doesn't happen in debian and other distros. Why does this happen in slackware then? Do I have to recompile XEDIT or use a special launch command or something? See attachment for example. It's past line 100, but you can only see the first two digits in 100 making it a difficult editor to use for any line past 100. Anyone got any help they can offer? I want to be able to use XEDIT, but can't if this problem persists. Extending or stretching the window horizontally doesn't fix it either.
