Hamilton police are asking for help identifying a suspect wanted in an armed robbery at a convenience store Monday.

The lone male suspect entered the Hasty Market at 387 Barton St. E. around 9:25 p. m. Oct. 19, police said.

He had a black handgun and demanded cash from a store clerk.

The suspect was handed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, heading east on Barton.

No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, six-foot, with a medium to heavy build. He wore a dark-coloured surgical mask, a black hoodie with a white Puma logo and dark-coloured pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamilton police BEAR (break, enter, auto theft and robbery) unit, Det. Const. Patrick Cole at 905-546-8936 or Acting Det. Sgt. Frank De Vuono at 905-546-8937.

To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppershamilton.com.
