Reset Vector address of U boot versus kernel

Hi,

when do the reset vector address of kernel image gets executed?

My understanding is, on power reset the reset vector of Uboot image(in the case boot-loader used is U boot) gets executed first and then it loads kernel image.

Then in what cases the reset vector address in vector table used in the kernel source start up code will get executed?

Please correct me if my question itself wrong.
