The Miami Dolphins fielded a call from a team checking on the availability of star corner Xavien Howard, but it would take a monster deal to land him, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

It would take a "Laremy Tunsil type" of offer to entice the Dolphins to trade its No. 1 corner, Schefter adds. The Dolphins traded Tunsil and receiver Kenny Stills to the Houston Texans last year and received two first-round draft picks and a second-round selection in return.

Howard, a 2018 Pro Bowler, is playing some of his best football, having recorded an interception in four consecutive games. He shares the league lead with four interceptions and hasn't allowed a reception in two straight games.

Howard has a league-high 16 interceptions since December 2017.

Howard signed a five-year, $75-million extension with the Dolphins in 2019. It's the fourth-richest contract at his position, surpassed only by teammate Byron Jones, Baltimore Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey, and Los Angeles Rams star Jalen Ramsey.
