49ers' Garoppolo, Kittle head to locker room late vs. Seahawks
Two key players for the San Francisco 49ers' offense exited against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an ankle injury, and tight end George Kittle left due to a foot issue.
Both were deemed questionable to return.
Garoppolo struggled before departing in the fourth quarter, throwing for just 84 yards with one interception. Nick Mullens replaced him.
Mullens played well in relief, throwing for 238 yards and two touchdowns. However, the 49ers still lost 37-27 to the Seahawks.
Garoppolo suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the New York Jets, missing two games as a result, and the ailment has hampered him ever since. He briefly returned in Week 5, but Garoppolo exited again due to the injury.
Kittle has also missed time this season. The tight end sat out two games after injuring his knee in Week 1.
