Browns holding remote meetings after player reports COVID-19 symptoms

The Cleveland Browns closed their facility and will work remotely Monday after an unnamed active player reported experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, the club announced.

"While there have been no positive test results among players, coaches, or staff members, the team decided to host meetings remotely to exercise the appropriate level of caution," Cleveland said in a statement.

The Browns added that the player in question hadn't been at the club facility Monday.

The NFL experienced a rash of COVID-19 issues following Sunday's Week 8 slate of games.

The Baltimore Ravens are in the NFL's intensive protocol after cornerback Marlon Humphrey announced he tested positive for the coronavirus, while the Green Bay Packers are working virtually due to running back A.J. Dillon's positive result.

Additionally, two Arizona Cardinals players reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

The Browns - who haven't had a player test positive for COVID-19 this season - have a bye in Week 9 and aren't scheduled to play until Nov. 15 against the Houston Texans.
