Introducing myself so I can post an answer with links on it

Hi there,
I'm joining the forum specifically to reply to https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...er-4175666173/ , because I had the same issue and, after a few days searching and testing, found a way to make it work.
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to post links (tried to and got "You cannot post URLs to other sites until you have made at least 1 other post. Why not introduce yourself in the Member Intro forum?"), and my answer had a reference to kernel.org's git repository.
So, here it goes, hopefully in a few days I can comment on that other thread, too.
