Wide receiver Kenny Golladay is expected to miss the Detroit Lions' Week 9 contest against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a hip injury Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Golladay is considered week-to-week and could be a candidate to land on injured reserve depending on the severity of the injury, Rapoport adds. The Lions reportedly haven't made a full determination regarding Golladay's timeline.

Any player placed on injured reserve this season is required to miss a minimum of three games. The Lions moved defensive end Trey Flowers to reserve Monday with an undisclosed injury, per Rapoport.

Golladay's hip issue isn't the first ailment he's dealt with this season; a hamstring injury forced him to miss the first two games of the campaign.

The 26-year-old has recorded 20 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns this season as he looks to build on a 2019 campaign that saw him lead the NFL with 11 receiving touchdowns.

The Lions may be looking to add some insurance to their receiving group following Golladay's injury as free-agent receiver Mohamed Sanu is trying out for the team.

Golladay, selected by the Lions in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, is in the last year of his rookie contract.
