Chargers' Bosa in concussion protocol

Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa was placed in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury Sunday versus the Denver Broncos, according to Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.

Bosa didn't finish the Week 8 contest, which he left to undergo a concussion evaluation early in the fourth quarter.

Bosa has posted 18 tackles and 4.5 sacks through the first seven games of the 2020 campaign. He hit the double-digit benchmark in sacks three times in his first four seasons, and had 5.5 sacks in seven appearances in the one season he fell shy of the milestone.

The Chargers handed Bosa a five-year, $135-million contract extension before the season, tying the former No. 3 overall pick to the club through the 2025 campaign.
