How to connect two Linux machines and an old Windows laptop

Greetings,
I have a Debian server running, a desktop also running Debian(both use Trinity Desktop) and a laptop that runs Windows 2000 SP4, but I can't figure out how to connect them all with only a switch, as I'm new to this stuff (well with Linux, that is.) and having them all communicating to each other is needed for me :)
