Broncos GM Elway, CEO Ellis test positive for COVID-19
Denver Broncos general manager John Elway and CEO Joe Ellis tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced Tuesday.
The Broncos believe Elway and Ellis contracted the virus outside the team's facilities and no players or coaches had close contact with them.
Elway, 60, experienced minor symptoms Monday morning. He's been Denver's general manager and executive vice president of football operations since 2011.
Ellis missed Sunday's home game against the Los Angeles Chargers because he wasn't feeling well and worked remotely Monday. The 61-year-old was named Broncos CEO in 2008 and has also served as team president since 2014.
Broncos offensive lineman Graham Glasgow also tested positive for the virus last Friday. Denver opted to work remotely that day and returned to the practice field Saturday.
Three Broncos assistant coaches - Curtis Modkins, Mike Munchak, and Ed Donatell - had to be isolated in the last three weeks due to the NFL's COVID-19 protocols, per Mike Klis of 9News.
