[SOLVED] "Not Authorized to Control Networking"
by ceh421 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#59XYF)
Running Slackware-Current
After slackpkg update-all I keep getting this error (only as a normal user) when trying to do anything with my network... Changing which network Im connected to, connecting to a VPN, even disconnecting form the netrowk. All was working fine before the upgrade. All still works as root.
NOTE: I did not upgrade anything to do with kernel.
Connection Activation Failed
(1) Not Authorized to Control Networking
ALSO - "Log Out", "Shut Down" etc... not working from application menu or action buttons menu in XFCE.
Again all was working fine before slackpkg-upgrade.
Let me know if you need any more info - I almost always find a solution to my linux problems searching on my own, but I am at a loss here.
Downloaded and compiled the latest kernel (5.9.3) - rebooted to new kernel and now everything works again.
