Bears release Ted Ginn Jr.
The Chicago Bears released veteran wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., the team announced Wednesday.
Ginn - who signed a one-year deal with the Bears as a free agent in April - failed to make an impact this season and was a healthy scratch for a second straight game in Week 8 after struggles returning punts.
The Bears benched Ginn, who took over as punt returner following Tarik Cohen's injury, for Dwayne Harris.
The 35-year-old caught just three passes for 60 yards while on the field for just 62 offensive snaps all season.
Ginn began his career with the Miami Dolphins after being drafted with the No. 9 pick in 2007. He's also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, and New Orleans Saints.
