xwmconfig, isn't changing behaviour of `startx` ?
by coralfang from LinuxQuestions.org on (#59Z51)
Hi, just switched to the vtown packages to test the new KDE5, although i can't get it to start.
I used `xwmconfig`, and selected KDE, but startx is only launching my awesomewm session.
xwmconfig is indeed setting the symlink here:
I have tried rebooting also, but no effect.
Code:jigoku@darkstar ~
> $ ls -l /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Nov 4 21:15 /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc -> xinitrc.kde
jigoku@darkstar ~
> $ more /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.kde
#!/bin/sh

userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xresources
sysmodmap=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap
# merge in defaults and keymaps
if [ -f $sysresources ]; then
xrdb -merge $sysresources
fi
if [ -f $sysmodmap ]; then
xmodmap $sysmodmap
fi
if [ -f $userresources ]; then
xrdb -merge $userresources
fi
if [ -f $usermodmap ]; then
xmodmap $usermodmap
fi
# Start the window manager:
if [ -z "$DESKTOP_SESSION" -a -x /usr/bin/ck-launch-session ]; then
ck-launch-session dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session startplasma-x11
else
dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session startplasma-x11
fiWhat can i do, and why is this happening?
I think possibly 2-3 days ago, it seemed fine, and i changed my wm session to fluxbox for a short while before reverting back to awesomewm.
