The king gets checked in more ways than one in the new Netflix series The Queen's Gambit."

The King, as in King Street East, got checked, as in checked out, by the show's locations scouts obviously because there it is, in all its storefront glory, right where it intersects with Walnut in the International Village. And now you can check it out when you're watching the episodes.

If you remember the old Bohemia Palace Cafe from not so long ago, you might recognize the streetscape around it in The Queen's Gambit," in the scenes where they show what's called Bradley's Pharmacy in the series.

Those scenes were shot in Hamilton, at the fork of King Street East and Walnut. And, where once a pawn a time, there used to the old Bohemia Palace Cafe, film crews built a set to stand in for the pharmacy, in the town where the show's protagonist is living.

If you made the connection, you can count yourself a grandmaster at the discovered (location) check.
