Wicd does not remember anything
by tpprynn from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5A2VB)
I am only just finding this now as of Debian 10.6 (things were fine in Debian 8, 9 and 10.3) but Wicd does not remember my wifi from one boot to the next.
Should anything be in ~/.wicd? Mine is empty on two computers, one with Debian LXDE (built from the netinstall) and one with Fluxbox. (The same file on an Ubuntu 18.04 mini+Fluxbox laptop is also empty.)
Where should Wicd be storing things? Is anyone else finding this? I suppose most are using Network Manager and more elaborate DEs. On my laptop for now after much struggle I've got /etc/network/interfaces taking care of my wifi and a plugged in 4G router, though it seems one set of settings needs disabling for the other to work. I would like Wicd to be working properly. Maybe there is something missing from my install that is included with the LXDE iso? I still have the iso for LXDE Debian 9 but I wouldn't expect that to not work.
Thanks.
