Report: NFLPA investigating cameras in Jets' locker room

The NFLPA is inspecting the New York Jets' training facility after the team complained about security cameras in the locker room, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.

The union will consider taking action if any CBA violations are found, Cimini adds.

Jets players reached out to the union in recent weeks about what appeared to be surveillance cameras hidden in smoke detectors, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The NFLPA communicated the issue to the NFL in late October, but while the league admitted cameras have been in the facility since 2008, it ruled they were compliant with rules since players were aware, Mehta adds.

Numerous current and former Jets players reportedly told Mehta that they were never made aware of the cameras.

The Jets moved to their current training facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, in 2008.

New York has endured tenuous relationships with players in the past. In November 2019, former receiver Quincy Enunwa voiced his displeasure with the organization over a fine, and current Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele filed an injury grievance while he played for the Jets last season.
