Police investigating fatal train accident in Brantford
Brantford police are investigating after a male was killed when he was struck by a train Sunday morning.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the CN rail tracks on Usher Street just before 10:30 a.m. Nov. 8 for a person struck by a train.
The victim, only identified by police as a male, was pronounced dead on scene.
The traffic and criminal investigation units of Brantford police, along with CN police, were on scene for several hours Sunday investigating.
On Monday, Brantford police said the victim had been identified. His name is not being released out of respect for the family, police said.
Police are looking to speak with anyone with information or who was near the train tracks between 11 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
