My name is John. I live in Munich, have been retired for 10 years now (2020). I have a diploma in Math and Computer Sciences, worked in SW Engineering, System SW development, Database design, SW Quality Assurance for Embedded Systems, i.e. for realtime SW that is embedded in automobile control devices.
In my professional life I learned and used a number of programming languages: ALGOL, FORTRAN, COBOL, Ada, Pascal. Currently I am studying Python.
I have been using Linux for many years (SUSE, Ubuntu, Mint, Manjaro) and have contributed mainly to the German Ubuntu forum.
I am interested in the re-use of old Computers, therefore I like to experiment with slim Linux system configurations that can be useful on old HW with small RAM and limited CPU power.
