Report: Whitworth suffered torn MCL, damage to PCL
Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth suffered a torn MCL during Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Whitworth's ACL is intact, but the veteran blocker also sustained damage to his PCL and the team will place him on injured reserve.
The lineman will receive a second opinion and there is optimism this injury won't end his season, Rapoport adds.
The 38-year-old was carted off with what appeared to be a major knee injury after getting tangled up with a Seahawks defender.
Whitworth has started 55 of 56 games since signing with the Rams in 2017 after spending the 11 previous campaigns with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The two-time All-Pro signed a new three-year contract with Los Angeles this past April.
Joe Noteboom took over at left tackle following Whitworth's injury.
