Ubuntu 14.04 reboot at GUI login screen
by taim602 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5AF7T)
Hello to all of you!
I just got a Linux desktop from a friend of mine, running Ubuntu 14.04, which was working ok since the other day.
I already checked many things, but couldn't solve this riddle.
So, when a Linux gets to login GUI screen, you just see a login prompt for a second and then computer shuts off.
When I run it in safe mode, I can access GUI without a problem and also log in and see everything.
If I go directly to command prompt it also works.
I think computer is runing lightdm visualization, I already reinstalled it, but without any luck in loging in via GUI.
I am kinda thinking there could maybe be something with the graphics/graphics driver.
Has any of you a suggestion what can I try next?
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
