fresh install Ubuntu 20.04 hard locks

I just purchased a newer laptop to replace my 8-9yr old one and installed Ubuntu LTS.
ntel(R) CoreTM i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz * 8
Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics (CML GT2)
12G shared RAM, using 512M for graphics.
Code:$ uname -a
Linux lapNew 5.4.0-54-generic #60-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 6 10:37:59 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/LinuxIve had this system for 1 week tomorrow and in the past 96 hours Ive had 3 hard locks requiring press-hold on power button to reset the laptop. Sadly this vs does not have a removable battery.

that is the exact model laptop. great performance other than these hard locks.
I have tested the SSD by following directions here:

Passed both on short and long tests.
I also rebooted via liveUSB and tested the RAM. that also passed 5 of 5 loops.
So if not the drive or the RAM, im now asking for what steps to continue tracking down these locks before I run out of time to get a replacement or at least return to have it re-tested by the manufacture.
