Report: Eagles owner skipped game out of frustration with team

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie didn't travel to Cleveland in Week 11, and it's widely believed to be due to his frustrations with the team, sources told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Lurie typically attends every Eagles game no matter the location, and was present at the first nine contests of the season.

A club spokesperson said Lurie was absent from the Browns game Nov. 22 as a precaution in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. But the 69-year-old has reportedly shown his disappointment recently by leaving various practices early, according to McLane.

The Eagles have sat atop the NFC East standings for most of the year, though their 3-6-1 record was also the fifth-worst mark in the conference through 11 weeks. The franchise has been on a downward trajectory since winning Super Bowl LII, and its struggles in 2020 have it on track to finish the year with a losing record for the first time since 2016 - Doug Pederson's first as head coach.

Lurie is expected to be at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 12 when the Eagles host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. He's seen 15 iterations of the Eagles make the playoffs since purchasing the team in 1994.
