Kontact & Akregator keep freezing on Mint...

Akregator worked excellent for months with zero issues.
I installed Kontact about a week back, it worked fine for a few days, but then both started freezing, and I lost my RSS feed. Tried removing/reinstalling, but have the same issue. I tried getting the OPML file from AKRE., but it takes me to the picture shown below, and says I don't even have permission [on top of the freezing], whereas before, it took "my documents" and allowed me to save with no problem. Any suggestions how to get the OPML out since nothing is showing on the left feed, or how to even get it working normally again? The repository for the Kontact app only had 5 ratings and said it was buggy--maybe that's the issue?
