KDE Menu bogs down system?
by JamesGT from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5B1S2)
This is a new one for me, so please bare with me on this one.
I am running Slackware64 Current on my HP Thin Client. Yesterday I ran slackpkg to update everything and as usual, got anxiety when I saw the kernel change. I worked my way through that, ran eliloconfig and rebooted and everything was good.
When coming back into KDE, when I click the K button for the menu, it lags for quite a while. 30-60 seconds before it finally pops open. This lags the entire task bar. Once it pops open, clicking on anything is ok. I can run any of the programs but the task bar is still lagged for a bit.
Once everything is cleared up, everything seems to be good.
Any ideas where I should start looking? Which logs?
