Harbaugh discusses Ravens' outbreak: Nobody is 'batting a thousand'
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh addressed the COVID-19 outbreak within the organization that forced the team's Week 12 game to be postponed on multiple occasions.
The divisional battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers was finally played on Wednesday after a week in which more than 20 Ravens hit the COVID-19 list. However, the coach believes his team followed the league's protocols as best they could.
"I think everybody did their best. We didn't bat a thousand, nobody did. Nobody does, all around the country, around the world. You're not batting a thousand against this thing," Harbaugh said in his postgame press conference. "It's not the time to take an accusatory stance. That's not the position that I would take. I take the position that our guys fought like crazy and I'm proud of what they did."
It remains to be seen whether the Ravens will face discipline from the league for an outbreak that resulted in the postponement of its marquee Thanksgiving Day game.
The Tennessee Titans were not heavily reprimanded for an outbreak early in the season. However, the Las Vegas Raiders and New Orleans Saints were reportedly fined and stripped of a draft pick for violations of the league's COVID-19 protocols.
