The New York Giants are "very optimistic" quarterback Daniel Jones will return from his hamstring injury in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals, a source told SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.

Jones sat out Sunday as the Giants picked up a 17-12 victory over the Seattle Seahawks to extend their winning streak to four games. New York sits atop the NFC East with a 5-7 record.

Head coach Joe Judge said Monday that Jones will have "every opportunity" to show he's ready to start in Week 14, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Thanks to an accelerated recovery, Jones was apparently closer to facing the Seahawks than the Giants initially anticipated, according to Vacchiano. The sophomore was a limited participant in practice Friday after missing the previous two days of work with the ailment.

Jones has thrown for 2,335 yards with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions over 11 appearances in 2020. He tossed 24 touchdowns against 12 picks as a rookie last season.

Colt McCoy started against Seattle in Jones' place, completing 13 of 22 pass attempts for 105 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
