Just saying hello to all of you

54 year old that is proficient in windows but 2 weeks into Kali. I am at the frustration point just trying to set up my machine. Learning how to update (daily) . I have other OS on USB flashed hard drive. I use Ventoy on the external drive. Currently i am trying to get my old Asus RT-AC66U router to work as a repeater in my garage and it's kicking my ass. I guess I have one question (if anyone reads this) How do I find the PATH to my folders so I can install them through command line?
