OPP roundup: Bowling ball smashes windshield
An occasional roundup of unusual OPP news releases:
A motorist threw a five-pin bowling ball at another car on the night of Nov. 26.
The bowling ball smashed the windshield while the car was northbound on Buckhorn Road north of Peterborough. It was thrown by a passing motorist. The driver had minor injuries.
Officers are looking for the culprit. Anyone with information can call police at 705-742-0401.
Don't do this
A man became irate when asked to leave a restaurant in Georgian Bluffs Township, near Owen Sound.
On Nov. 20 at 6 a.m., staff told the man the restaurant was not yet open to the public.
He then defecated on the floor and threatened an employee. Police used a Taser on him during the arrest.
A 43-year-old man from Arran-Elderslie, Ont., was charged with mischief and uttering threats.
Dognapping
Police are looking for a puppy thief.
On Nov. 27 OPP were called to a house in Delhi, near Simcoe.
It was determined that between 6:40 p.m., and 8:40 p.m., unknowns attended the address and removed two puppies and trail camera from the property," police said.
The puppies are about five months old and are a mix of ridgeback, mastiff, Newfoundlander and shepherd. Both are female and tan coloured.

Just wrong
A man faces several charges after driving drunk the wrong way on Highway 17 in Garden River, near Sault Ste. Marie.
Motorists had to pull over to avoid a head-on crash with the truck. It happened at 9 p.m. on Nov. 28.
A Sault Ste. Marie man, 33, was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving the wrong way and having open liquor.
Welcome back
On Nov. 24 at 8:30 p.m., police found a car in the ditch in South Frontenac Township, north of Kingston. It had hit a tree. The driver was not there.
An individual later arrived at the scene, indicating she was the driver," police said.
A local woman, 27, was charged with impaired driving.
Truck driver flees
A tractor-trailer driver ran away after hitting a car.
On Nov. 29 at 5 p.m., the truck hit the back of a car on the Hanlon Expressway in Guelph, causing a chain-reaction crash. Two occupants in one of the cars had serious injuries.
The driver of tractor-trailer ran from the scene and was arrested nearby by members of the Guelph Police Service," OPP said. The truck driver was then turned over to the OPP."
The driver, 25, of Brampton was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to stop at an accident.
