Persistence not booting
by Danwhite99 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5BPYA)
I have been using a Kali Linux with persistence for a couple of years on a USB drive, but still know very little about Linux. Today I installed OpenVAS/greenbone. Install seemed to go smoothly with no noticeable errors. When I logged into the webpage (server started) I did not see what I expected to see and thought maybe I needed to reboot so I did. Thats where the trouble started, It will not boot into persistence. It will boot into Live mode and Forensic mode but not fail-safe. The last line printed while booting is "finished:update UTMP about system run level changes.
By pressing Alt&F2 I dropped to a CLI and did a uninstall & purge of "OpenVAS". That did not help.
Can anyone point me where to look?? I really don't want to over write my persistence folder.
Thanks in Advance
