It appears Louis Riddick is a hot commodity.

The ESPN analyst and former NFL executive interviewed for the Houston Texans' general manager job on Wednesday, the team announced. He will meet with the Detroit Lions on Friday for their opening, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Riddick is currently in his first season in the commentary booth for Monday Night Football. He has plenty of experience in front-office roles, serving as director of pro personnel for both the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team.

The former pro scout has interviewed for other GM openings in the past and is reportedly among the candidates for the Atlanta Falcons' vacancy.

Houston fired Bill O'Brien from his head coach and general manager role after an 0-4 start this season, and Jack Easterby is temporarily filling in for the latter position. However, the Texans aren't planning on turning Easterby's interim role into a permanent job.

The Lions relieved head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn of their duties on Nov. 28.

Riddick spent seven seasons in the NFL as a defensive back.
