With goaltender Alex Stalock out indefinitely with an upper-body injury, the Minnesota Wild have signed veteran netminder Andrew Hammond to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Hammond last appeared in an NHL regular-season game in 2017-18 with the Colorado Avalanche. He spent the last three seasons with three different AHL franchises, including Minnesota's affiliate, the Iowa Wild, for 33 games in 2018-19.

He owns a .923 save percentage across 56 NHL starts.

Stalock started 38 games for the Wild last season, earning 20 victories and registering a .910 save percentage.

Minnesota dealt longtime No. 1 netminder Devan Dubnyk to the San Jose Sharks earlier this offseason.
