Today’s coronavirus news: Ford calls emergency meeting to discuss province’s next steps
One man is in hospital and another facing an aggravated assault charge after an attack inside the Salvation Army Booth Centre Thursday night.
The assault at 94 York Blvd. involved one client of the shelter attacking another with a larged edged weapon, described as a large knife or hatchet around 11 p.m. Dec. 17.
The assault was targeted and the weapon has been seized, said Const. Jerome Stewart.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, was transported by paramedics to hospital with serious facial injuries. He's in stable condition.
A 34-year-old man was arrested in the building and is facing charges of aggravated assault and four counts of fail comply with probation.
