Garrett still working to improve breathing a month after COVID-19 bout
Cleveland Browns star pass-rusher Myles Garrett is continuing to work hard to get back to full health nearly a month after testing positive for COVID-19.
"I'm trying," Garrett said Friday, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "Still doing breathing treatments and still doing conditioning on my own. I'm feeling better each day."
Garrett - who missed wins against the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars after receiving his positive result Nov. 20 - said he's unsure how long it'll take to "feel really 100(%)" with his conditioning.
With the defensive end still feeling the effects of his COVID-19, he stressed people must take the virus seriously.
"There are so many things that come with being diagnosed with COVID or testing positive for COVID," said Garrett. "I mean, you have to take it seriously. This is something that is going to stay with you for a while.
"I'm trying to take it as seriously as possible, so I can be back correct for this game, the end of the season, and hopefully the playoffs.''
Despite missing Weeks 11 and 12, Garrett remains firmly in the hunt for his first Defensive Player of the Year nod.
The No. 1 overall pick in 2017 is tied for third in the NFL with 10.5 sacks, trailing two big competitors for the award in Aaron Donald (12.5) and T.J. Watt (12).
